Philippe Parreno
Philippe Parreno

French artist who starts exhibiting in the mid 90’s. His work and approach are influenced by cinema, television and the world of entertainment in general.

It stands out for the theatricality and staging of decontextualized everyday objects (displaced from their surroundings), giving them a new meaning (sometimes hidden) and rising a space between reality and fiction. Video and image are also part of his artistic imaginary.

Parreno’s influence can be seen in the lighting, in general and, above all, in the olive tree and the "Hotel" label reused from the previous establishment. Nowadays it is exposed to the public to give testimony of the past, without renouncing to it. The objective was to highlight the contrast between the city and the countryside, the nature and man-made, concepts that are repeated throughout the inn.
